Spinner wheel & random name picker

Press Spin, click the wheel, or hit the space bar.

Give someone a bigger slice by adding *3 to their line, e.g. Maria*3 is three times as likely.

WINNERS SO FAR

    How to use it

Type in your students’ names (or topics, questions, prizes), press Spin and let the wheel decide. It works in any browser, on a projector or a phone, and nothing is stored on a server.

    1. Type or paste one name per line in the box next to the wheel.
    2. Press Spin (or the space bar). The wheel ticks round and stops on a winner.
    3. Tick Remove winner after each spin so every student gets a turn, or leave it off for repeat picks.
    4. Use Full screen to show the wheel to the whole class.

    Questions

    Is the spin really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen first with your browser’s secure random generator, then the wheel animates to land on it — so a bigger wheel slice really is more likely to win, and nothing is rigged by the animation.

Can I make some names more likely to win?

Yes — type Name*3 on a line (for example Maria*3) to give that name three times the chance.

Are my students’ names sent anywhere?

No. Lists stay in your browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
