Privacy Policy
1. Data collection & use
Global Tutor Board collects information voluntarily submitted by tutors through our registration forms. This includes names, profile photos, biographies, qualifications, and contact links (WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.). This data is used only for public display on the directory board.
2. Public consent
By submitting your profile to Global Tutor Board, you acknowledge and consent that your information will be publicly accessible worldwide. This visibility is the primary service we provide to help you find students independently.
3. Third-party interactions & payments
We do not facilitate, process, or store details regarding lessons or payments between tutors and students. All financial transactions occur directly between the tutor and the student/parent via third-party methods. We are not responsible for the security of these off-platform transactions.
4. Student privacy
We do not collect student data beyond what a student chooses to save or record in the features described in sections 7 and 8 (a word bank, reading aloud). We do not use tracking cookies to monitor student behavior or personal identities. When a student clicks a tutor's contact link, they are governed by the privacy policy of that specific platform (e.g., WhatsApp or Telegram).
5. Data removal & accuracy
Tutors are responsible for ensuring their profile information is accurate. You may request to update or permanently remove your profile at any time by emailing us at the address below. Removals are typically processed within 48 hours.
If you start a tutor sign-up and do not pay, the profile is deleted automatically after 48 hours. We keep only your name and email address, so we can send you the occasional message about the tutor board and our teaching materials. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time.
6. Teacher Pass accounts & payment receipts
If you buy a Teacher Pass we store your email, your account, the pass dates, and any payment note or receipt you upload. Receipts are kept in private storage, are visible only to the site owner, and are used only to verify your payment. Tools store your own settings in your browser only. You can ask us to delete your account and receipts at any time.
7. Voice recordings: reading checks and GTB ReadUp
When a student reads a text aloud, either in a reading check that their teacher sends or in GTB ReadUp, the recording is sent to us, kept in private storage, and turned into text by a speech recognition service that runs inside our own Cloudflare account. We use it to work out words a minute and accuracy. Recordings are kept for 90 days, and then the audio file is deleted. The results (the figures and the marked text) stay in the student's history.
Only the student can hear their own GTB ReadUp recordings. A reading check sent by a teacher can also be heard by that teacher. The site owner can reach recordings for support and to fix problems. We do not use recordings to train any model, and we do not share or sell them. A student can delete any of their GTB ReadUp readings, with its recording, at any time. You can also email us to delete your account and everything in it. A parent or teacher should decide whether a child uses these features.
8. GTB ReadUp purchases
If you buy GTB ReadUp we store your email, your account, the dates your access runs, and any note you send us about a payment. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, Dodo Payments, and we never see your card details. One payment buys 12 weeks and does not renew by itself.
