How to use it (30–40 minutes)

  1. Set the scene (3 min): read the setting; ask what people usually say in this situation.
  2. Read aloud (7 min): pairs read the dialogue twice, swapping roles.
  3. Phrases (5 min): drill the useful phrases chorally, then in pairs.
  4. Cloze (7 min): students complete task 3, then check with the key.
  5. Role-play (12 min): pairs use Card A or B to make their own dialogue; swap partners; volunteers perform.
